Hi, my name is Derek Jones and I'm 0VRLNDR: a composer, modular synthesist, and electronic musician. 0VRLNDR's journey with synthesis began as a child, sitting too close to the speakers listening to Switched on Bach on vinyl. An acoustic multi-instrumentalist for decades, he now composes and performs primarily with modular and semi-modular synthesis, still obsessed with those sounds from so many years ago.
0VRLNDR is influenced by Tangerine Dream, Klaus Shulze, S U R V I V E, Vangelis, and all things Moog. In addition to composing scores and live performances, 0VRLNDR also educates on the topics of synthesis and sound design.
A three-part piece in six movements that through an osmotic path takes the listener from peaceful Oblivion, to agitated Fermentation, and finally to a settled Lull.
Works inspired by and created in nature, often in remote wilderness.
An ever expanding library of one-of-a-kind patches for the Moog Subharmonicon.
